for the sake of having an actual productive work force, i say yes. the same reason new years day became a holiday; i'm sure productivity is abysmal after the super bowl. so what's the point?

at a federal level? nah. but i think it should become a common cultural custom for business to close the day after the super bowl, or at least open at a later time.

i already have the following paid holidays (the ones w/ an asterisk are not Federal Holidays) w/ Friday off if the holiday is on Saturday and Monday off if it falls on a Sunday:
    New Year's Day
    MLK Day
    Presidents Day
    Cesar Chavez Day*
    Memorial Day
    Independence Day
    Labor Day
    Columbus Day
    Veterans Day
    Yom Kippur*
    Thanksgiving Day
    Day after Thanksgiving day*
    Christmas Eve*
    Christmas Day
    Personal Holiday*

oh don't worry. i do my fair share of calling in on Fridays or Mondays already. ;) i'm just thinking that the Monday after Super Sunday should be a nationwide thing that we should not have to worry about and enjoy. :gj: but maybe i'll negotiate that and New Years Eve next. :)

Edit: what if i sweeten the deal? what if everyone gets the the day off the Monday after Super Sunday AND if your team won the Superbowl, u get another day off to attend the victory parade the same week??!!

I used to be in 6 leagues. Now I only play in one with my father and brother just for giggles and bragging rights.

I used to play before it was all over the world wide interweb. We used to have to buy the newspapers and check box scores. We had to do our own scores and our opponent's that week. Then it would be submitted to the commissioner. Drafting and free agency were a nightmare.

I'd be down for a BP.net league!!! We'd have to do it for fun and bragging rights though.

I'm down for this, with the caveat that the Monday after the Daytona 500 gets to be a holiday as well :D (nope, no ulterior motives to see here, move along... :bolt:).

I guess I have no sympathy for people who have to drag themselves to work after a day of fun and partying-- seeing as I'm a nurse and am required to work a good portion of actual legit holidays anyway.
