Germaine has been eating pretty well, I just switched her to rats so I'm going to try feeding "her" every other week.

I used to think ball pythons had a 'wall' at 1000 grams, but that was when I was feeding pre killed or frozen thawed. Now that I feed mostly live nearly all of my ball pythons are eating every time, except for the preggo females that are getting some nice sized follicles. Perhaps when they hit 1000 grams they mature enough to know they want to hunt and not be fed a rodent that's not wiggling around LOL.

I would think that as long as you kept your temps accordingly as they need to be, especially during the winter time then BP's will not hibernate and should still eat. Mine 2 boys are "Monsters" when it comes to meal time. They know every Sunday it is feeding time and if I'm late by any means they will start crawling around the enclosure constantly until that rat is dropped!

But with that said, these are BP's we are talking about and are known to piss you off and go off feedings no matter what season it is.
