Only holdbacks. Kids have a fit if I sell something that they have named.

was a little worried about feeding last night, thought maybe he'd refuse from stress from a new home + bad shed, but went ahead and tried anyway since it's been about 2 weeks since he's eaten

any tips for handling? i haven't been able to handle him yet because he is still pretty skittish and i don't want to stress him out too much.
been sitting outside his tank for 10-15 minutes at a time just talkin and watching him, he'll slither right up to me and flick his tongue and watch me back. but if i open the tank and try to even rub him for a second he tenses up and flinches a lot.
would just be a lot easier to spot clean his tank and do any maintenance if i could pick him up outta there lol

Re: Lesser BP
If you got him on 11/1 then he is still settling in, give another week or so and make sure he's had at least 3 successful feedings before handling. As far as handling, starting out they will always tense up as babies as they really ha e no clue about the gigantic creature looming over them that going in for a grab at them.
Now what I do, is open my tub, give them a min to settle up on me then when I reach in it's slow going to the back side of the head and gently rubbing along their body to know they are awake and realize I'm there and I'm not going to hurt them. Then when I pick them up if their small enough they can ball in my hand I let them and continue to rub along their body. Eventually as long as your slow and easy with then they will "loosen" up and start wondering around on you. Once they start getting flighty, looking to hide, trying to quickly get their head in something to hide it's time to put em back.
I find with mine, thus won't be the case with all, I handle my babies daily with spot cleaning checks for about 10 minutes. Then they go back. As they get older and use to you, you can increase the time they stay out, but just learn YOUR snakes behavior and body language. GL

lil update! decided on the name malfoy (completely different than the ones i actually had in mind lol)
had his 3rd successful feeding too! think he might be going into shed again soon, his belly is lookin a lil pink.
he's definitely pretty settled in and his personality is starting to show- man is he a handful.
rarely balls up, absolutely loves to climb (which scares me sometimes), and has been trying to get out of his enclosure and explore a lot.
love him
