when i moved Yellow into his T8 he did not take to it very easily. there's was a month or so where he'd smash his face into the gap in what i can only assume was an attempt to get out. he'd sit and do this for like an hour, mess up his face...it was weird yet also very frustrating. he finally settled down after a couple months.

And here I thought I was the only one with a special needs snake LOL.

I opened Dante's cage this morning and started talking to him. He came out and this time came straight to my face and licked it then turned around and went back into the enclosure. I wish I had recorded that.

My oddball likes to try crawling across the top of her tub. Many times over half her body is upside down moving across the lid. I can never get a good pic of it. About the time I have the camera up and focused, she notices me and wants food.

This is by far the silliest thing I've caught him doing, so far at least. I walked into the room and found him just chilling like this.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7072641622.jpg

Probe climbing, a saga that was cut short too soon lol. (She bypasses the probe for her ladder anymore).

And the first time we tried lying the cold rat on top of her tub. There is literally nothing in that corner for her to climb on, so this is literally sheer determination in physical form. And she's about a foot off the ground. Go figure.

I will try getting a picture of it but the last week or so I've caught my ball python with her head and about 8" wedged between the glass and the litter dam. (Those of you with an Animal Plastics enclosure will know the space I'm talking about)

For me, it would have to be when I woke up at around 3AM and decided to check on my boy Sam. He is usually always under his warm rock hide, like, ALWAYS, so I scooted the lid back a little and checked under it. (I have a 20 gal tank with a screen lid) He wasn't under it, so I checked his other hide, and he wasn't there either! I tore up the substrate and looked everywhere but couldn't find him, so of course I was having a major panic attack because I truly thought he had escaped, I was shaking and on the verge of tears because, well, he's my lil baby and I thought I had lost him forever. My last hope was to give the tank a better check, so I took off the whole lid, and, SURPRISE!! He was LITERALLY just chilling in the lip of the lid at the top of the tank, completely invisible unless the lid was off. God knows how he fit his entire body up there and got himself to stay, but oh man did it give me a fright. He's so weird. Nevertheless, it was the most reliving moment of my life to see he hadn't escaped.

I so wished I had my phone with me because I really wanted a picture of this. In the 7 years of owning him, he has never once done this. I was walking to the kitchen to get some water before bed and noticed he was spread out. I did a double take because his head and neck seemed missing. I stopped in front of the enclosure and looked in. He was actively burrowing in the substrate.

He keeps doing the oddest things in his new home. I am scared one day I am going to not see him and think he escaped only to find him underground.

Maybe I'm just a worry wart, but mine like to do things that make me think they're sick or injured. Sometimes they drool, forget to put their lower jack back right, make wheezing/hissing noises as they breathe, or rub up against things that are sharp, spiky, or otherwise dangerous.

I've had snakes get tangled in the weirdest things. A burner grate on the oven, a three hold puncher, my recliner, a keychain...
