Shoot, never thought of the mould thing. Humidity levels are 69 under the light, which is the cool end (82 F.) and 79 over the heat pad which is the hot end (87 F.) There is no condensation on the walls of the tank. Should I lower humidity? Thank you all for your suggestions, I'm a worry wort. I had a ball python in my youth but that was decades ago, husbandry (AND ball pythons) have changed. Who knew there would ever be so many morphs?
Re: New snake having bad shed!!
69 is fine. Just wanted to bring up mold since you mentioned that you keep spraying the paper bag and soaked mulch. I think everyone worries when they start out. Then you realize how bombproof these reptiles are and you start worrying a lot less. With my PVC enclosure setup, sometimes I don't check up on them for days. Everything is set up on thermostats and alarms are programmed in case the temps are either too high or too low.

Thank you for the reassurance. Think I can rule out not cleaning enough, he's only been set up for a couple of weeks. I'm using zoomed cyprus mulch and thus far, there's been nothing to clean up. :)

I'm smiling because you're absolutely right, I worry about all aspects of care. Thank you for your encouragement and reassurance. :)

O.k., I'll keep trying. Will give him a day or two to rest though as I don't want to over stress him. I'll keep trying to get a little off at a time and HOPEFULLY, the next shed will be normal. Thanks for sharing your experience. :-)
