I think the size of the snake is largely dependent on its genetics. You may reach that size faster with a good feeding schedule, but you could also end up over feeding the snake, which isn't good for it either. You create a fat snake then, not a "big" one.
I had a Normal female that was 4500 gr. She was a import. I do believe she was from the region that seems to produce larger sized Ball Pythons.
Some just grow bigger and faster then others, even if fed the same exact diet at the same exact intervals.
I have a male like that. From the get go he just grew BIGGER then the other, even though he was raised the same way and on the same diet.
I, too, love the big ones. The actual "Volta region" ones seem to have larger heads as well as bigger bodies.
