yeah, you will have to throw that hide away anyway as he will eventually pee in it.

The tupperware hide is really easy to clean/sanitize too. Just so you know [emoji16]

To GPBP, it's all good we just care and so do you to make sure there is nothing that can harm your pet. Can is the key word. It might never happen but no need to take the chance.

Tupperware is a perfect option because you can toss that into the dishwasher.

Also, just a thought, but the shed process can take a few days and the cardboard *may get soggy and collapse or mold.

Tupperware will work in a pinch, and you wont have to worry as much on the tape/mold issue. If you want a neat /easy idea that works well - I use a terra-cotta pot. I soaked it for 48 hours so that is was nice and wet then used a dremel and a hammer to make a snake size hole (used a file to smooth the edges) in the bottom (where the drain hole is). Then I turn it upside down and set it in the little drain pans that come with the pots and layer the bottom with sphagnum moss. I usually keep my humidity between 50 and 60 and then bump it up to 65 during shed.

As long as the substrate he is laying in is not wet, he should not get scale rot. I keep mine up by keeping a ball of damp sphagnum moss in both corners at all times (I put it in little salsa cups to keep the bedding dry). This way i can wash the cups and change out the moss regularly.

That should be fine, just do it away from the smoke-detectors and in a well ventilated area away from the snake :gj:
and of course let it cool off before giving it to him

I used my fingernail file to smooth the edges (I don't know why I forgot to mention that, sorry) but I think the lighter should work. Hubs suggested using a soldering iron along the edges.
