Wet Towel Method?

I found a guy who can cut the holes in plexi-glass for me. Yay!

Now, how thick should this plexi-glass be? He is suggesting using a sheet 1/8th in thickness. Will that be thick enough for humidity preservation AND preventing heat loss?

Yes, it will work no matter the thickness, the only reason to go thicker is to make it stronger to avoid it breaking but if I remember right, I used 1/8" and it lasted years so you should be fine, just don't set anything heavy on it lol.

I actually use straw huts originally designed for rodents in addition to my stone hides. I spraw them down well every couple days and it keeps my humidity right around 68.

That's a good idea but keep an eye on that thing, inside and out, for mold. Not everything can stay humid without starting to mold. I had that issue with aspen and that's why I switched to reptichip. But if it doesn't mold then I'd say it's a pretty good idea for a humid hide.

Yup I've been doing a thorough check every time I handle my babies. So far no mold or rot issues been running the same huts for 3 months now. I'm prepared to toss them at first sign of rot. For only 7 dollars a piece it wasn't that pricey to stock up on backups of them.
