That is very encouraging! Thank you so much for the positive perspective! I will offer one for you if they produce a clutch this year.:gj:

I am in no way advertising any sales, just sharing my breeding attempt. He just offered to take one, if I end up donating. I'm not sure which rule this is breaking? Could you please elaborate?

(I didn't want to disturb them, but had to remove the hide, in order to clean up all the urine.)

Paper towels work best for breeding. I remove everything from the females tub except a water dish and often they knock that over too. I peek in after 24 hours and 48 hours. If they are not locked at 48 hours, I remove the male and clean the females tub. If they are locked I check back 24 hours later. I have had pairs locked at both the 24 and 48 hour check. You can tell when they are done because they will usually be in separate coils (not always but frequently). I pair a female twice a month for several months consecutively. This gives both animals time to eat and shed. My males never lock in shed but my females usually will. Putting the shed of another male snake in the females enclosure the day before you introduce the breeding male and leaving it in there while they are paired sometimes encourages the pair to lock. If the female lives in a 32 quart tub, that is where she breeds. I never change the females enclosure to breed her. Breeding a Normal to a drinker is the only good way to prove a drinker out. Other genes tend to confuse things. Have an incubator set up and running well in advance. I usually turn mine on two months after the first pairing even if I do not observe a lock. One of my females laid her first clutch this year and I never observed a lock. Sometimes they lock for a long time but sometimes not. Hope this helps.
