My Royals don't eat whilst in shed but snakes like Kings / Burms and Retics eat anytime in my experience anyways

I tried to feed one of my snakes (a rescue) while he was "in deep blue." I was inexperienced and saw no harm in trying to keep to the "schedule' that they'd both been eating on.

The poor thing, it tried mightily but kept missing the mouse. I had no idea of how vulnerable it must have felt. Over and over again it tried to latch on (or make defensive strikes) until it began to show desperate fear and curled into a little ball.

I've since learned that the few days waiting to feed it, while the snake is regaining its sight, is well worth it in the long run.

    Peace

Odyn ate. The mouse was HUGE and it took him a while, but he got it down in time. Then he started rubbing his cheeks on everything. And he went from 89g last week to 105g this week! Wow...the 100 mark. That makes me happy since he was a non eating underweight snake from work. With a messed up eye. Still working in the eye. Hoping proper sheds will take care of that eye.
