Re: RI please read
Add all of them, and no they are not expensive at all. If you think about how much waste there is when feeding the other food compared to feeding this good-quality mix, you are spending so much more money on the other food, and will have very unhealthy rats because of it.
When you get all of the ingredients and mix them up(good ratios of each), you will have enough food to last more than 2-3 months and the rats will eat ALL of it.
If the dog food you are using for your dog isn't a senior food, is a crappy brand(Pedigree, Alpo, Dog Chow, Ol' Roy, etc) Do not feed it. You need a high quality, low protein food like Nutro, Eukanuba, Science Diet, etc. Get a SMALL(4lb) bag of senior, low protein food(18% or less), and put in about 1/4 of the bag.
Even if you don't witness breeding(after the male gets well), if you leave him in with females for at least a week to a week and a half, they will more than likely be pregnant. You can leave the females together up until they start getting obviously pear-shaped and fat. Then separate them. This fattening usually won't happen until the last week to week and a half before birth. It will take 21-23 days for the babies to arrive, and then another 4 weeks until they can be separated by sex and weaned. They need to be separated because females can get pregnant at 5 weeks of age. NOT good.
