Let see parasites (internal and external brought into your house), the chance that the mice ate poison a day or 2 before (arsenic will take 3 days to kill them).....hmmm do you really need to save money that bad?

I won't go through with it, too many risks.

To clarify, though, I'm not talking about dropping live mice into the vivarium. I'm talking about taking trap-killed mice (Or mice I've euthanized with nontoxic methods) and freezing them for a few weeks, then bringing them out and letting them thaw.

I don't know if nonliving toxic substances are neutralized by freezing, though, so that it's not worth the risk to save a few bucks.

Leave the wild prey to the wild snakes. Too many unknown factors at play to risk it.

Re: Wild mice / rats a bad idea?
Nope. It'll be like you eating a hamburger you found off a park bench. Wild rodents are usually laiden with parasites, and in worse case scenarios disease. You can bring a number of pathogens to you and your snake by feeding wild rodents. Do yourselves both a favor and stick to domesticated animals, whether it be live or frozen.
