Now I remember why I hate mice!

You gotta get a better lid on your cage then! It is just not allowable to let snakes get out. I elarned the hard way when one of my females died in the basement (frozen.) Now I am super paranoid about closing the locks on the cages. You should be too;

Lumpy will need to be fed much sooner than that, Also I totaly agree with Gin you need a better lid/enclosure this is a burm you are talking about this snake above all others can not be allowed to escape at 3 ft its a danger to small rodents but full grown its a danger to you, your family, your pets, and so on.. May I ask how the burm got into the mice enlcosure?

nah, the lock on the lid is really good, but i just forgot to lock it that night cus i was real busy with lots of stuff.

I'll say this as nice as I can....I agree with what both Sean and Gin have said.

A burm is a huge responsibility. You owe the snake, yourself and your family let alone your neighbours a more responsible attitude when it comes to locking down that snake and doing all you can to avoid escape.

You simply cannot be "real busy with lots of stuff". Escapes by big burms (or any other snake that has the potential or perceived potential to cause harm to other's pets or small children) can cause a community to enact laws that restrict the rights of others to own snakes of many species.

I am not saying I won't ever have a snake escape in my home either. It can happen tho we try to make sure we have checks and double checks on locks down even with our small balls but a cavalier attitude over the escape of a burmese python really concerns me.
