    Those of you that don't use hides have your snakes in racks tho correct?? Mine are all in personally built plexiglass tanks in a "bookshelf" setup I made myself, they all use their hides. Only time they are out is pretty much when I'm thawing rats in the room and they start cruising around looking for food.

    Yes racks. The more exposed the animal feels the more likely it is to use a hide. Some feel more exposed than others even in the same setup.

    I think it all depends on the individual snake. My Pastel girl loves her hides, but comes out for a bit at night to sit on top of one,then goes back in. I have a two part rock hide where the top comes off and she loves that thing! I thought that maybe she just liked being under the lamp, so I moved it as an experiment and she went right back into it although it wasn't under the lamp. I left it there for a while and she sure enough stayed, although her other hide was in the same spot her rock one was in originally. I moved it back after words seeing that she just really love her rock hide.:P Supper random story, but hey!
