    Your hot side temps are too high.
    Hot spot should be 90-92 on the surface.

    ^ You want a gradient of roughly 80F >>> 90F through the enclosure.

    That said, mine does the same. Nothing wrong with it, I've heard that male snakes often prefer the cool side hide anyway; mine only ever uses his hot side after he's eaten a meal.

    Ideal ambient temp for a ball is 84 to 88. He has absolutely no reason to go to the hot side. I run 84-88 at all times and provide no supplemental heating.

    Thanks guys, what should I do to get the hot side down? I'm assuming that with the new insulation as the hot goes down so will the cold
