I have that same cave hide (on your cool side), it looks cool but my guy balls up in the left side of it and it's difficult to get him out at times because he gets wedged into the cavities in there... I pick up the hide and he goes with it. I have a few reptile basics hides, going to replace it soon.

FYI - I don't regulate my heat lamps (1-day and 2-night bulbs), but I use low wattage in an exo terra hood - before getting my BP left them on for days and temps never got above 91F (I do regulate my UTH with a Herpstat). Make sure your lamp doesn't make things too hot, decrease wattage, etc. to keep cage safe with temp gradient - a consistent room temp helps things

Re: Too Much Handling of New Ball Python??
    Hello All!

It's a little late, but I wanted to share the updates I have made to the tank so far. I took a little bit of what everyone said into consideration and added more clutter, a digital temp/humidity reader, a temp controller to my heat lamp, and covered the back/sides/top of the tank. I decided to not get him an additional hiding rock because he's been using the bogwood as a hiding spot and actually fits inside of it and within it's crevices. Ziggy has since been a lot less anxious and moves around his cage a lot less often now. I started handling him again on Friday and he's still as docile and sweet as ever.
