    About the craigslist rehoming, if you do see ones from breeders doing downsizing, that will more likely be alright. But definitely don't go for the "no time for snake/need to rehome" ones on craigslist, not for a beginner.

    +1 for looking for facebook classifieds groups in your area!

    I started out with a baby ball python who has only had 2 meals in his life before he was sent my way. I did much research though, and we were just fine.

    Best advice I was given is to have your setup and all equipment 100% ready and monitored for a couple days before you pick up a snake.

    That reptile convention is about two hours from me, so maybe. I found another one that seems to be a little closer but is much sooner so I don't know if I can go to that one, but at the moment the reptile shows seem to be the best bet. I'll recheck the craigslist ads.

    Searching Facebook is always an adventure...I'm trying to find recent posts...
