Re: Snake rescue mission
The snake honestly doesn't look like it's in that bad of shape. Despite what you THINK you observed, the mature, responsible thing would've been to ask the questions and/or educate and create an awareness. Stealing does absolutely NOTHING except make you a criminal. It means that anything that now comes out of your mouth will be doubted, even if it's the truth.
Returning the animal would be a step back in the right direction.

Re: Snake rescue mission
It's possible that "snagged" doesn't mean stolen, but is used more in the same sort of way as "I snagged a great deal." Dunno how likely it is, but it's possible.
It's very common for classroom pets to be dumped on students, rescues, or wherever at the end of the school year. If it's stolen, that's not ok - just pointing out that it's a bit unclear if it really is or not.

I hope you are right and this is just a bad wording issue. Stealing is dumb. Stealing then posting about it is "too dumb to be allowed to breed dumb".

I was about to say, it also doesn't look like it's in that bad shape. Kinda nice and chunky LOL. Possibly had a UTH instead of a heat lamp. And if the humidity has really been too low for too long, we would be seeing stuck shed, which we don't.
Totally honest though, just fess up to your teacher, tell her about any issues you believe the living conditions have, let her explain, and ask if you can buy it if you want.
Also, from the words "rescue mission" in the title, I do believe the OP stole it. Sounds like kids when they imply stealthy action lol.

Snagged isn't stolen [emoji23][emoji23] teacher didn't want to take it to the vet so I asked if I could take and keep it sorry for confusing everyone [emoji23] I've been talking to him about getting the snake for the past month

And the stealth was having to go through my school with it to get to my girlfriend and her car, the teacher said to hide it so I don't get in trouble for having it inside the school instead of the ag barn because dr jones (principle) hates snakes

Re: Snake rescue mission
No problem after looking at it I realized [emoji23] didn't mean to scare anyone, also now I have my first two ball pythons and they are my new best friends [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] and this one switched from live to frozen thawed like a champ already, probably because he hasn't gotten a mouse in 2 and a half weeks but still
