bcr229 is right - the few fish decor things we still use are artificial plants, or things they can't get stuck in - the undersides/interiors are more or less bowl-shaped.

You're right, I also have an All Living Things rock hide and although it looks cool, when I pick it up my BP usually goes with it... and it can be difficult to gently pry him out... neither of us need that stress.

I'll bow to you DIY guys but the presumably the vibration will be horrendous using a dremmel ??
I kinda like the needle-nosed pliers suggestion where you concentrate the pressure and there is no vibration.
I still think it will come out itself given time ..
