That is definitely not a boa. It looks more like dog but it's hairless....weird.

My wife's parents do volunteer wildlife rehab and they get calls all the time to rescue "eagles" that turn out to be pretty much every sort of ordinary small bird.
So so many weird "identifications" in wildlife rehab. Also so many calls about animals that are just chilling and are not hurt or hurting anything. There was a turkey vulture sitting on a wire in town one day and the wildlife center I volunteer at got a ton of calls about the "turkey" and how they should come get it. It just wanted to sit there...leave it be.

I do have to say it's a fun guessing game sometimes. What random thing are they actually bringing in? Most recent one I was right on was that the wild turtle (described as medium sized oddly) would actually be a full sized stray Sulcata tortoise. Second lost sulcata in a year at least - I don't understand how people lose giant tortoises.

To be honest I would see if anyone has lost a snake recently... But that's up to you, I hold no judgement. She's lucky to have you :D

If it was found in a ladies apartment then it's pretty much a guarantee someone in the building is worried about their lost pet. I'd atleast attempt to return it to the owner. I'd hate to know one of my pets got loose and was found so close to home but noone decided to give it back.

If something is *scary,* it will look bigger in the mind's eye...at least that is my experience. I was in Texas several years ago, exploring the edge of an overgrown property. Very unexpectedly, I came upon a boar. Domestic, and tied up. I still picture it as about the size of a VW bus. Scared the bejeesus outta me!

To be completely fair, even a small domestic boar will absolutely ruin your day if it decides it doesn't like you. I'd say your hindbrain had the right idea lol.

Im also really glad the lady called us instead of just killing her, could have definitely gone much differently for the poor little thing.
I did do some searching on craigslist, etc to see if anyone was reporting a lost snake :rolleyes: ... unfortunately the particular apartment complex she was found in is NOT one I will be knocking on doors at, definitely not a good area of town.
