I have no ideas, but just curious, how come you didn't call him out the first time he sent you that picture of a different snake from the ad?
I think I was about to walk into a law school exam, took a quick glance, and saw that the side spots were missing and took it as the same.

Well, the seller refunded my money, but I couldn't bring myself to keep the money and the snake. We worked out a deal where I paid for the snake, and he ate the shipping cost. At least he was one of the better guys to deal with despite the inconsistencies. All in all, I had my lesson learned in not paying enough attention. I think I would have been perfectly happy to receive the snake in the follow up picture. Oh well.

In a business where reputation is EVERYTHING, it's always better to over-compensate if you make a mistake, rather than under-compensate. No one wants to be ripped apart on the BOI or FBI.

You are absolutely correct, but it still isn't right for me to take advantage of an honest mistake. I'm just glad he was willing to remedy the issue.

This is very strange. I'm wondering if this is due to either inexperience or disorganization? Or both? A mix up this bad is making me suspect if you're not the only one this has happened to. Either way it seems they understand they've messed up royal, and as Toothless ladywhipple02 pointed out, made an effort to over compensate as an apology.
Do you know their history and if they had any reviews prior?

Glad you got things sorted out!

I went and looked through his personal facebook page, but he's a relatively small operation. He seemed to check out as far as being a decent person goes. As a breeder, he doesn't have much of a reputation, but the money that I had going into this was low risk, so I didn't mind giving the smaller guys a shot. I try to trust people, and for the most part, it has always worked out. It's when they break my trust, even at a small dollar amount, that I get angry. It's not a money thing really. He has a nice, small collection for sale on MM.
Call me naive if you will, but I don't have a problem buying from a breeder without a reputation. It's when they have a bad reputation that I steer away. Before going into law, I was an entrepreneur- a successful one to boot, but I wouldn't have seen any success if no one gave me a chance. I posted on here, because I was in a bit of a shock and was just making sure I wasn't going crazy. For a minute there, my mind was trying to reconcile the two snakes to be the same.

That first picture looks more like a crystal and what you got was an actual lithium so really you got what you paid for but the seller being so unorganized to not notice after your first inquiry is a red flag. Glad you guys were able to work it out.

I'm glad it worked out ok for you. I gotta say, you taking the moral high ground is pretty admirable. You don't see enough of that in today's world. I think the majority would have been happy with the "free" snake.
You, however, helped to restore my faith in humanity today. So, thanks for that :gj:

Based on the info given, I think I'd do business with both of you, seller and buyer.
Mistakes happen, but its how you fix them that matters !!!
