Jekyll the Sand Boa sees sand for the first time!
They will burrow under most substrates as I understand it . The breeder of mine said not to use sand but I can't for the life of me remember why !?!?
He suggested Walnut husks or something but it proved difficult to source ...
Mine is happy as Larry under Orchid bark .

The sand I have is high grade reptile sand (has a pic of a sand boa right on the front ;) ) that should be fine (I feed him in a separate container).
