Bad advice and poor choice if your goal is to not have hands bit! There's no need to add the stress of a seperate feeding area. I'd also get hemostats to offer food from. No good will come of sticking your hand in there with a rat after a couple thousand more grams.

I was doing the same thing, but i stopped because there is no benefit in feeding outside the enclosure, if its feeding time, the snake will smell a rat, if its playtime with your kids the snake will not smell a rat and he will not bite. Moving the snake for feeding may even cause the snake to go off feed. About the hand feeding, think about it this way, if you hand feed, he is gonna associate hands with.......yes, food. But if he sees feeding tongs when its feeding day then you will never have a bite to you or your kids. He might miss the rat and get your hand, because its also warm and it will also smell like rodent. I feed with tongs and gloves. A bite from them at that size its not really painful, but once he gets older its not gonna be really fun.
