Coffee grounds mold pretty quickly. So no, don't think that would be a good idea for quite a few reasons.

No absorbency, caffeine, smell of rank, old coffee, mold, etc

Hmm, a fishy coffee smell! (I don't mean Strange):rofl::rofl::rofl:

Newspaper is cheap... Snakes can absorb. I would not use coffee or anything that has unknown effects.

Haha, sorry. I've volunteered at a wildlife rehab center for years so I've become pretty inured to gross smells.

More than likely the snake would absorb the caffeine from the coffee and would get sick or die.
