    I do not think it is scale rot. Looks like he just scraped his back on something. It should clear up with the next shed.

    Scale rot is usually on the belly.

    I agree with kaorte, it's just a wound healing up.

    A few sheds will clear most of that up.

    I agree that it's not scale rot. Looks like just a scrape in the process of healing. The scales might be a little flaky or peel a bit in that spot until it's completely healed. It may take a few sheds to disappear completely.
