Having a password or not is really useless. That can simply be fixed by formatting windows, so if the person has any basic knowledge of a computer, you're likely going to have to prove another way it's yours.

On a side note, whenever I have roommates, the day they move out, I rekey my locks. Of course I have trust issues. I had my dad staying with me for two months due to my parents splitting up, and when he moved out yesterday, the front and rear door locks were rekeyed, and that's my father. lol

I would never have a roommate in the first place that I thought I would need to do that if they moved out. All my roommates were good friends before moving in together.

Nor me. But I don't put anything past people.

Did you buy the computer yourself, or was it given to you? And how long ago? I'm sure if it really comes down to it they can trace the serial number to who it was sold to. If it was gifted to you all that person would have to do is give a statement to police saying they bought the computer and gave it to you specifically.

It really sucks that this happened to you. No integrity or respect these days.

    Help with hutch reptile cage
Over the years I have used many plastic reptile cages but now I am planning to go for China hutch reptile cage. I have put a fair bit of research into it and feel that racks are practical in breeding and saving space. I am planning of garter snake which do not need much of hiding. I saw a design online. I don't wish to go for online purchase. Can anyone suggest me where exactly I will get such furniture for snake habitat. Meanwhile, can normal furniture services like surplus furniture & mattress who sell chests at factory prices provide me with hutch reptile cage at affordable rate ( http://www.surplusfurniture.com/en/w...room/chests/1/). Below given is the image I found online. Do pour in your suggestions.
