Sand in bp mouth

Thats what I'm saying. Once i started questioning him on her previous conditions and everything he dropped that bomb and hasnt responded. He said she should be laying in under a week. Idk i hate that i got myself in this odd situation but at the same time glad shes not with him anymore.

She was probably on sand, without proper heat or humidity. Apparently she did get sand into her mouth. Possibly into her throat. Perhaps even her nose.

The open mouth and mucous is probably due to a Upper Respiratory infection. She also seems to have had trouble shedding, looks like her eye caps didn't shed off. Its good your removed the aspen. You don't need to add any dust to this situation.

Let her rest and de-stress a bit, but you will most likely end up having to take her to the Vet for some meds. But not tonight. See how she is doing tomorrow.

About the eggs..maybe she will and maybe she won't lay eggs. At this point I would take anything that former owner says with a grain of salt.

Make sure you follow strict quarantine.

Yea i was gonna get the eyes fixes up but i didnt want her to deal with more crap. So i hope she gets better shes really sweet. I just feel so bad she looks so uncomfortable�� gonna call the snake dr in the morning and hope they can see her this week.
Is there any way to know if she has eggs? Is it something that should look pretty obvious or would she need ultrasound or can you feel for them? Im not a breeder i just have a lot of snakes so i couldnt tell you if i suspect she is or not

As for quarantine i do have her in the loving room where the extra terrarium is... But i also have one of my first bp in the living room as well....should i move him up with everyone else until she is fixed up or should he be ok? Theyre in opposite sides of the room but idk

Behavior will tell you if she's going to lay more than anything else. Look for her to be inverted and coiled. Although sometimes momma can surprise you and just *suddenly* eggs.

Ok well ill just keep an eye on her for any of that....or a random clutch i guess ha. Idk He said she was bred to a spider and now hes doing red tail boas 😒 so he needed her gone so who knows. I honestly hope she doesnt cause im not set up for babies but ill prep for it just incase.

Respiratory infection can sweep threw a collection like wild fire. I would never have her in a room with my other snakes.. This could get crazy expensive if others come down with something. Put your other snake with the others and keep her 100% alone...

^^That is GREAT advice^^

Also, if you do maintenance around the snakes, always do the sick/new one LAST.

If you need to do something with your established snakes after you handled or maintained the new snake, wash and sanitize your hands first, and change clothes. Depending on the severity of the illness, I would even shower. One cannot be careful enough, esp. once illness is diagnosed !
