    Re: Thawing frozen rats question...
I just purchased a yogurt incubator from Amazon. It is designed to keep 1 1/2 quarts of milk at 110 degrees. I figure if you start with warm water, it will keep the water warm until the rodent is ready.

Back when I did frozen thawed I put them in the fridge overnight, then put them in my egg incubator at 110F for an hour or two depending on size. The thing I didn't like was the nose bleeds, I never have a bloody rodent with a fresh kill, and it's always at the perfect temp. It may be a bit more work raising my own rodents but I'd never go back to frozen thawed. I also like that I can decide to feed, go down and feed and be done with it instead of rearranging my schedule around thawing rodents LOL. Plus since I'm using free shredded paper for bedding and lab blocks fed from above it saves me a ton of money. If you were local I'd give you a few fresh kill every week, I have an abundance of rodents!
