I keep a towel on the warm side of the screen, an unertank heater, and a 50 watt infrared lamp on at night on the cool side. For some reason, that combo keeps my temps contant in the low 80's on the cool side (which isn't covered with towel and allows heat to come out) and the warm side stays in the low 90s. I only have a 1-2 degree change at any given time. The humidity stays in the 40's from low to high. I was up until 3 in the morning last night and would check the temps when I'd walk by and it was constant up until that time, and the same when I got up this morning at 10.

Oh yeah, during the day while I'm home, I have a regular 50 watt basking light, same set up (as far as side of tank and towel on top).

When I would have basking light on warm side, and towel on cool side, my temps on warm side would raise to the high 90's (very close to 100) and the cool side would be in the 70's, too much of a variance for my comfort.

This set up seems to work well for me. Although, I am going to take someone else's advice about getting some Glad press & seal to replace the towel, as I think that will help hold in humidity a little better.

Boy, I'm a little chatterbox, aren't I? I also wanted to thank you for your feedback, Adam. I just want to do the best I can for my little guy (to the point of being probably a little too obsessive). I'm constantly reading these boards, going back to older messages and learning everyone's advice. I've learned a lot here!
