Yeah he's nice and fat. It's been a week of him doing this all day. It's been going on constantly. He NEVER goes in his hide. I think it's time for an upgrade to a 28qt? I'm handling him to see if the method mentioned above works.

Nope, still out and not going in his hide. I'm kinda getting worried now. What do I do?

May I ask what kind of thermometer you're using to check temps ??

There's no reason to be worried. He's functioning normally (eating etc) at that size, in that size tub it's entirely possible that the tub itself is functioning like a hide - from the snakes POV anyway. If it works there's no need to change it until he outgrows it.

Well the thermometer looks good - I'm assuming that wire is going to a probe ...

It's not a great photo but it kinda looks very cramped unless that's just a small section of a much bigger rub .. suggesting a size of rub increase is in order ( or a viv - lol ) .

Also Is that the warm and cold hides side by side in that shot ??

My BP sometimes is very active also. She likes to nose around the top and climb the vines I've got in her enclosure. It's possible your snake is cooling off but if no conditions have really changed then I wouldn't worry. Some are just nosy. I got my female BP at about 2 months and she has always been like this. I hold my BP 1 - 2 times a week which does help in giving her some space to explore.
