im so slow on the forums :( but anyways i feed both mine in the "original" tank i do take their hides out but that is just cuz they make me nervous :) but i have never had a problem with them hunting after feeding, usually i wait 10 minutes before putting the hides back in and i dont have any troubles sticking my hands right back in the tank after they eat.

I feed all 7 of my snakes in there inclosure. I have yet to have a problem with any of them. Only time i have a problem is when they are in shed.

We feed our young snake in her regular sterlite tub and haven't had a problem with that. She's never struck at us as we handle her daily anyways or are in there changing water or removing wastes. She once did a rather abortive attempt to tag me but I know I was in a hurry and moving my hands fast around the tank and she was in blue, so for me that doesn't really count.

As far as worrying about substrate we don't as we ended up trying a few things and liked either newspaper or thick papertowels best. When we used the cypress tho we just popped a layer of newspaper in and wiggled the mouse on that. Baby came right up no troubles and the newspaper kept any mulch out of the way. I do agree with Adam tho on this issue. I think nature must have designed a snake's digestion to handle this to some degree, after all they must get some stuff in their mouths when they hunt in the wild.

I also feed all our pythons in their enclosures, not nearly Adams numbers but a healthy pool lol. We've never had any negative experiences as a result.
