I'm going to the pet store tomorrow to pick up a thermostat so i can regulate it properly. Also hoping to pick up a bigger UTH. Do you use a uth? what temps do you keep it at?

It wont add much at all to the ambient temps overall, but it will add to the ambient temps inside the warm hide.

The uth will not aid the air temp. That is not what they are for.

Also you need to unplug it until you get a tstat. The bulb alone can work. Google images of burned snakes to see what a unregulated uth can do. It is not pretty.

The tstat options at most pet stores are not great. Your best options are going to be online. Herpstat, Helix, Reptile Basics to name a few.

So I should bump up my heat lamp then? My goal for the UTH is to mainly heat the substrate atleast.

What temperature are you seeing under the substrate right above the UTH?
