Re: What to do? Leaving Town for 2 weeks.
I wouldn't want to leave mine without someone checking on them either.
So it seems I might have the wrong idea in sending my BP back for a vacation to the shop I got her from? Will it stress her? It's the same shop I got her from and she'll have been with us for only 2 months and will be returning in the container she's in now. It used to work for our BD fine - but they tend not to stress at all.

Thanks Daniel, I was hoping that might help your friend. I'd also leave a short list of "red flags" so someone inexperienced would definitely know if this or that is going on somethings wrong. Also if you know a breeder well enough maybe they wouldn't mind you passing on their phone number to call in emergency if you can't be reached and something really serious is going on. Not that that is going to happen but me being the "worst case scenerio" type of thinker, I always feel better with a plan in hand LOL. I totally agree with you Daniel about not leaving any pet unattended for extended periods of time.
Sue, the biggest issue for me in boarding a snake at a pet store would be what is the pet stores procedures for boarders as far as where they are kept, exposure to other snakes being boarded or exposure to incoming new stock and the employees handling my snake if they have been working with other stock that may not have been vet checked recently. Again I'm a major worrier so I know I'd be concerned about stuff like that. Still I'd do what you are comfortable with, only you know what is best in the end for your pet and your level of confidence in the pet store boarding.
