My first snake, and ball python.
Awesome high contrast. Very pretty albino!

I don't get to see mine slithering around a cage considering they're all in tubs. But I handle them all every other day, so I still get to witness the beauty that they are... there's nothing like a Ball Python.... well, even though I'm starting to lock in to the bigger pythons now lol.

Optimistic, I bought some frozen/thawed mice and she chowed down almost immediately! I was so relieved and so proud of how good of an eater she was. I'd love updates on your Lil guy!

I'm glad to hear!!! I was told this guy has been eating frozen, but I'll know for sure when I try feeding! I've heard the live can be a hassle, and since I actually have a couple pet mice It'd be nicer not to feed live. Lol
I'll be sure to keep an updated progress log of photos going on this guy! Do you have an pictures of yours?

Thank you!!! I considered going the tub route, but got a set-up for a steal so decided to start with this and see how it works out. I'll have to upgrade tanks at some point, so tubs may be in my, and my snake's, future. Haha. I really love the ball pythons, but I'm also a huge fan of the green tree pythons. I had a hard time deciding between the two, but figured the ball was probably a better first snake, and couldn't be happier so far!!

Yeah, the Ball Python is a good starter snake. The GTP, not so much lol. Although they are mesmerizing animals. I want to venture into the arboreal world eventually, but it'll most likely be a carpet Python. .. and if you only have one ball and you don't plan on breeding or anything, then the tank/viv setup is much better. I keep all of mine in tubs in a rack so that i can manage all of their husbandry numbers more easily. And it's where they are most comfortable and eat the best. And eating is key, because my whole collection will become breeders as soon as they are to size.

Makes sense! Creating a full-blown vivarium with live plants sounds really appealing. I'm not sure I'll ever get into breeding, but it does seem fascinating!

Funny you mention a GTP. A girl in one of my groups on fb is selling one, and I'm so tempted to get it.

I find them absolutely beautiful, but I personally didn't feel ready for one. If you do happen to take in the one that's being sold I wish you all the best!! I love how cryptic they are.

Yea, they can be a bit tricky at times, more so with humidity, but I've taken care of one before for a few months when a friend was deployed.

This is the one I was looking at, and I don't want to hijack your thread so I won't comment anymore on it :P
