    Re: Feeding question?
I have had Felix only just over a week now. As far as when the last time he fed was, I was told the Sunday before I baught him, and I baught him on a Friday. I have been in the same pet shop before when they were feeding and from what I saw, the snakes remained in the bag untill they ate, and that was usually only about 15 or 20 min. They were also feeding frozen/thawed food as I am. I know that I am rushing things a bit so I am going to wait a bit longer before I try again. As far as his activity, he seems to move from hot to cool side of the tank on a regular basis. Actually, he seems to be on a sort of a patern. The first thing in the morning I usually find him on the cool side, and then as the sun comes up he checks in to the mid range hide (In the center between the hot and cool side.) he stays there most of the day, then he moves about during the early evening for a bit exploring. After about an hour he ends up on the warm side either in the warm hide or on the warm hide for a while and then heads back out for a while. My temps are becoming very good. The warm side is holding around 93.5 in the day and cools to around 88-89 at night when I shut off the regular light. As far as my cool side, It stays around 80-85 at and has been holding at 62 or 63% humidity. At night lately it has been climing to around 71 or 72% when the regular light is shut off. This is mostly due to the local humidity around here has been extreemly high and with out both infered and regular lamp burning it allows the humidity to climb a bit. He is in a big tank, but has pleanty of structure, as well as hides to chill in and around. Not too many vast expances to cross. I have found he likes to hang around in a fake fern I have at the cool end pretty regular as well. Actually, I couldn't find him in the tank one evening and freeked out a bit. Then I fineally saw him in the top of that fern... I couldn't help but laugh at that. Oh well I suppose it will all level out in another few days or so. He seems to become more and more comfortable as each day passes.

    Thanks all for the help

We were having some humidity issues a couple of weeks back Ray when temps here in Michigan were awful. We asked here and the general consensus is that it's okay if there's a time of higher humidity as long as the bedding isn't damp and the sides of the enclosure don't have condensation on them. Good air exchange in your enclosure should help with that I would think.

Glad little Felix is obviously thermoregulating well and settling in. I'm sure given time to feel secure in his new enclosure, he'll eat well. Maybe try offering food in the evening (after 10 pm). Since they are naturally nocturnal we do night feeding when our snake is out and about and it seems to work well for us.
