I tried feeding a f/t hopper mouse yesterday. He seemed interested but didn't take. I left it in overnight on top of his box where he was hanging out. This morning I found the mouse knocked off the box and he was buried under the aspen. So he didn't eat :(

I'll try again next week. Perhaps I should try braining the mouse? Any other suggestions?

Sometimes i wiggle the mouse using feeding tongs to make it seem more life-like.

I was told sometimes baby dumerils are kind of hard to get started on food. No idea personally though. I too just wiggle the F/T hopper above Luna's head and she shoots out of the aspen and grabs it. Sometimes if she is asleep, I have to dig a little bit of her out of the aspen to wake her up but she always is right on top of the mouse when its hung above her head. Did you make sure the baby was eating when you bought him? Sorry your little man isn't eating.

Yeah, I wiggled it around and did the little mouse dance. He came up to it and seemed interested, but never struck. I was told he's eaten 8 times. Breeder says he'd been eating f/t, but she had to leave it overnight. It happens. I'll let him settle in for another week and try again.
