If all IR is the way, what wattage bulb should I use. I have a 55 gal tank, 48"long, 12.5"wide around 19" or so deep. I am now using a 60W regular bulb during the day and a 50W IR bulb at night. These are also used in conjunction with ha regular heating pad under the tank.

It is really hard to say what size bulb you will need for your setup. I woudl go with one bigger then you think you will need and then put it on a dimmer and "make" it the wattage you need.

Thanks for the advice. I decided to go with the 150W IR bulb and got a dimmer to put on the thing. It is working great! I still can't wait for that Flexwat. And next a thermostat...
