    That's a good point , I put a piece of cardboard on the Viv floor and leave the food on that and for the two who strike from their hides I put some cardboard under their cave entrance .

    Ive read somewhere (maybe here) that " in the wild killing live prey , you don't think snakes don't swallow all kinds of stuff". While I can see that , I too agree I'd prefer my snake not swallow a piece of reptichip or bedding of sorts.

    Agreed , can't see swallowing pieces of orchid bark can't be that great for a snake surely , so why take a chance , I say .

    I've read loads of accounts of substrate impaction ...
