IMO this is a bad video to be sharing. I disagree with just about everything he explains.
for starters dinker is in the eye of the beholder, if you call it a dinker, you are saying you think it has the potential to be something other than normal. I may agree or disagree. Its an opinion, not a fact. I don't know why people want to complicate it. So for him to say this is and this isn't is just wrong.
Also genetic influence is normally used to explain not obvious things, like behavior or risk of cancer and such. Basically implying it is not another type of influence, such as social or environmental. Saying the visual look of a snake is genetic influence...... as opposed to what exactly?
50% of the snakes gene come from the mom, 50% come from the dad. While an offspring can look like one parent more or less, depending on a ton of factors, genetically it is a 50/50 split.
"It may not even be genetic influence, it could just be ones nicer than the other" even in the context he is using the term... what the heck is he talking about?
I hope in the last 2 years he has learned a few things, and learned terms such as monogenetic and polygenetic as they explain the things he is trying to explain. He also has a warped view of what a dinker is compared to general concensus.
as for your comment, i think 50% is an extremely high number to put on it, actually I think putting a number on it is pretty bad all together. Simply might have something going on, sums it up nicely.

As a breeder there is more planning than chance.
As a responsible breeder its about producing animals that are wanted by other responsible keepers.
I'm am not trying to talk down to normal but its not a goal to produce them for too many reasons.;)
