    Most of my girls are monster eaters. Then I have 2 that are slow pokes. Frustrating as hell but its part of the game. You just have to give them their time.

    I know this thread was kind of resurrected, but males are able to breed around the 800g mark I'm fairly sure, so maybe that's where the OP got confused.?

    Bigger and healthily fed females will produce bigger and Healthier clutches.

    I waited until my female was well over 1500 grams before starting and 3 years of age. She wasn't quite ready at 3, so I waited a little longer.

    I also wait between seasons to breed females. They need time to regain weight they lost, the time they didn't eat for, to heal, etc. Also probably means a longer lifespan.

    Welfare of the animals comes first before any monetary gain I might get.
