Snake on the loose

It sounds like you really need to look at the husbandry section. You need an appropriate, secure enclosure where the snake cannot get out, you need some sort of heat; controlled by a thermostat. Losing a snake 4 times in your first month of owning it is not normal, being a new snake owner doesn't justify it.

The reason I posted was to provide information, not to bash (OK, maybe a little bashing on the escape part - that's just crazy). Most people's garages are not proper environments for a BP. As others have stated, a little brush up on proper husbandry never hurts anyone. Good luck tracking Waldo down!

I hear you. And that's important when you have a BP slithering about loose a fair amount of the time. However, the look of your garage is of minuscule importance when it's actually in its enclosure (which should be most of the time). It's environment is what matters - meaning temperature, humidity, etc. That's the reason I provided the info that I did. I'm assuming that once you find him this time, he will stay found and you can focus your attention on what really matters to your BP.

My ball python did escape one time, and i found her clinging on a cold steel pipe, near a drain. It gave my heart a loud tug seeing her near falling. I hope you can find him asap. try looking for colder spots, since there's no way a cold day would appear in Texas right now.

Most common suggestion that seems to work is putting out your heat pad (plugged in of course) in some corner of the room, put a thawed mouse next to it, and put a hide next to that...

Having a snake lost four times in a month is definitely overdoing it though LOL! Make changes to the enclosure so that there isn't anything you might forget when securing it. Maybe two big buckle straps instead of clips. Or maybe stick on a note on your garage door that says "Secure the enclosure!"
