So for a female to get old enough to breed I think that takes three years? So it would be a 12 year project starting from scratch?

with good hets and good odds, u can breed 2 Black Pastel het Pieds together and have a 6% chance of hitting a Panda. (FYI my BPYB and BP Fire's father is a BP Fire het Pied and produced a healthy, high-white Panda with another BP het Pied.) will it be healthy? will it survive? will it have pattern? those are other factors to consider. as Dave mentioned above, his were patternless and didn't even survive the eggs. your 12year project scenario of starting from scratch can still have it's timeline all messed up with bad hatchings that are common with the Super's. i've researched, discussed and contemplated this for a long time. i've come to the conclusion that i wanna own a Panda and have come to terms with the downfalls of the project. and here i am with 4 new animals. (:

Edit: my 1.1 BP het Pied het Albino's have nice ringers and more than likely are het Pieds. furthermore, i can also produce REL-like BP's from them. woohoo Blizzards!!

Good additions and good luck on the project. Hopefully you will make better progress than I am with my REL project.
