    Maybe/maybe not. There is a video of some kid doing that. As a horrible person who has bopped mice on the head to kill them as a reaction to it freaking out from being held by the tail, I can tell you that I do not trust it being dead. There are a lot of levels of stunned and near death you may see, but not always are they actually dead. Cervical dislocation is tried and true, believed painless and nearly instant. Honestly I consider it kinder than how the snake kills it.

    Keep trying. It is much safer for snakes to eat frozen thawed. I read about a product that you can rub on the rodent and it apparently makes them smell really great (by snake definition of course). I can't remember the name of the product.
