If you order online it's usually cheaper than buying live, even after shipping. Yes, you have to buy in bulk but you'll use it up eventually. Buying from local stores is really expensive

On the other hand, why subject them to a possible bite, scratch, loss of eye, etc... if you don't have to. I'm sure there could be a 1000 page argument on what is best, but unless you have a good reason to feed live, I wouldn't. If you just like to watch a snake kill something, you may have a snake for the wrong reason.

So, what is a good reason to feed live? Only a few that I can think of...
    1. Your snake is in the less than 1% that will only eat live. (Yes, I think it's really that low).
    2. You're a breeder or keeper with a LOT of snakes to feed, and you just can't realistically thaw that much prey. I've seen keepers with 30 snakes still feed F/T.

Ultimately, you're going to do what you want, and nobody here can change that. I just hope that for your safety and that of your snake, you're cautious of the risks involved.

Okay...i am new to Pythons and i just got two baby ones ( 84 grams and 106 grams). My youngest eats like a champ since the first time i had to feed him and he ate F/T now, BOTH times. Now, i just got a new one from a breeder and as per the breeder, he is eating live. I tried to feed him 3 days after his feeding day just to give him time to relax and get used to the environment and he did not want to eat the f/t. He even got stressed and scared that he wanted to strike at it, but didnt. SO, thanks to that, the guy is more stressed. I tried to feed him the same night with all the lights off and still same issue. I just tried to feed him after 3 days i attempted and still nothing! His husbandry matches the same exact setting as the other pythons cage that ate already twice for me without issues. Now, the breeder is telling me he has to eat live. I hate this method and also hate the process since i have never done it and dont like it either. How can i get this guy to eat f/t after eating since born live???

    Thank you!

You're offering too soon. Try waiting 5-7 days instead of 3.
