    As much as I need a thermostat right now, I don't really have the cash for one. Even a cheap one. My mom is basically done helping me with my BP, (not to mention I owe her $120 for her terrarium), and i spent every dime I have on her other accessories, food, and a scale. Thank you all for the great advice though.

    In that case if you don't have the funds for a thermostat right now I'd still unplug the uth and use just back heat like an infrared bulb. Vet bills are much more expensive for exotics than what you've probably spent on the lot so far.
