Try some Reptichip or alike Coconut chip and see if you can clutter the enclosure a little more or even downgrade.
That's what they do but I think we as owner have unrealistic expectation as well, that a great size and a good looking animal, I would not be concern.
It used to frustrate me way back when now it really does not matter to me anymore (well except for the surplus rats I produce during the winter )

Also look for black specks in the water bowl, that's a good way to see mites and also look for moving black specks on the lighter parts of your snake. Your probably right that he doesn't have mites but it doesn't hurt to look. Do you feed in the T8 or a separate enclosure? Have you been offering every week since the fast started?
Great looking snake BTW!

I'm always paranoid as heck about mites so always check him when I get him out and practice strict quarantine procedures as well. Clean store bought plants, etc with hot water and reptile spray. I always offer in his enclosure and he's been on small f/t rats for along time. Since he started his first fast in December I offer ever two weeks and if he doesn't strike I leave it in his enclosure over night. He's ate a lot of times like that before.
