    i have two thermometer/hygrometers.

    cool side gives reading of 53% and hot side 44%

    thats normal right since hot side is drier than cold side.

    will still buy a third one just to see if the readings are not off.

    what can i do to make humidity higher? make more holes in the cold side?

    More holes will only let out more heat and humidity.
    Larger water bowl or water bowl partially on the heat mat.
