Sorry I'm confused--are both the hides the same, or are they different kinds? If he spends all his time in one hide, try buying the exact same hide for the other side of the tank. This also helped my baby that only wanted to hang out on one side of the tank.

He ordered 2 reptile basics hides bc his snake was only using the cool side and his hot hide was different. His last post was an update.

    Hey everyone,

He pushed the Reptile Basics hides around a lot at night and even tipped them over often, so I bought two of the "stone" hides that are almost identical. I also got a thermostat from Reptile Basics to monitor the temperature of his UTH, which was indeed too hot before. Here are some images to show the temps and exact setup I have going on.

    My thermostat settings

This is where the probe for the thermostat is placed; directly on the glass (usually covered in bedding.)

The temperature and humidity reading for the warmer side of his tank. The humidity fluctuates between 50 and 65% usually.

This is where I have the probes for the thermometer placed so I know exactly how warm and humid it is in his hide.

After all of this, he still prefers the cool side. I have ceramic heat emitters in lamps on both sides, but it seems that even at 94 degrees he still hates the side with the UTH.

Any help truly would be so appreciated -- I love Louis so much and I just want him happy and healthy again.

Get rid of that tape inside the enclosure ASAP! A quick Google search will tell you why. It's not good.

Also, if that's where you have the thermometer probe on the hot side (taped to the hide), it's not measuring the glass surface temperatue.

And the probe for the thermostat belongs on the OUTSIDE of the enclosure sandwiched between the heat source and the enclosure.

Thank you very much, I'll make all those changes and get back with an update.

Moving the tape from the inside of the enclosure and relocating the probe seemed to help a lot. He's slowly but surely spending more and more time over on the warm side; some days I place him over there and he will stay all day, and lately he's even been finding his way over on his own!

Thank you everyone for your help, you have no idea how much I appreciate it.
