Tiny carpet cobra

It is really foggy where she lives. lol. My young coastal was a little defensive at first, nipping, peeing and musking but it didn't last very long. My baby jungle has never done any of this.

Attitude is fun.

I have been bitten by my BC and carpet, but never the royal.

The carpet has tried more than the BC.

I found with handling the carpet calmed quickly.

I'm not sure why, but I find the Aussie snakes in general some of the most confident snakes around.

They seem to be OK with people after they get to adult size. I know there are scrub pythons and some olives that will disagree, so maybe I should limit it to carpets LOL.

I can't even get my coastal girl to bite me. I have disturbed her for handling in situations I'd never try with my BC and he is a good boy too.

She's never tried to musk or pee on me, thank goodness! I'll take the bites over that any day!

My other girl has an attitude - she'll huff and headbutt when she's not in the mood to be handled, but rarely bites and is getting mellower as she puts on size. My friend got a bredli around the same age as this little girl and she is the sweetest. One thing is for sure, carpets are never boring!

My little girl was quite a bit cage defensive when I first got her but she is a sweety now and it didn't take too long. I would use two hands to get her out - one to distract her and the other hand would be gently picking her up. She's a bit of a sook and hangs onto me quite closely. I have her out a lot and she climbs on everything but she is so fast that I can't take an eye off of her for a second. They are a beautiful snake and I would like to have, at least, on more, perhaps an Irian Jaya. I still get a kick out of her long, skinny tail (and how she wraps it around everything).
