I guess I should add that we make sure his tank is set up for 48 hours of solitude after the meal. We make sure it's clean, the water is topped up and everything else is where it needs to be.

We are very careful to do nothing more than observe our snake for the 2 days following a feed.

I was doing pretty much all that before but instead of a heat lamp I was using my electric heater. He was only eating every 2-3 weeks but then I posted pics of my set up and asked for help bc of my refusals. I took some of the advice and one was to try feeding during the day instead of night and cardboard on part of front and matching hides. For some reason I think feeding during the day is what did it. I've never have had him come out of a hide for food like this before. This method has work today and the last 2 feedings. The last 2 feedings though I didn't have matching hides and he didn't come out for the food. Now he has matching hides from RBI and came out today to eat. I will continue this method as it seems to be working great. Yes I also wait a strict 48 hrs before I even open the cage after a feed.
